Not going Home

I got here this morning and things were looking like a go to be discharged. They just needed to get an xray of his belly because it is quite distended, his breathing is labored, and he only poops when given a spository (sp?). So if the xray just showed that his belly was full they would send us home with meds and it would work itself out over time. Well we did the xray and his belly is full, but between this morning xray and the one they just took, he has plural effusions. (Fluid on his lungs). It is not enough to put a chest tube back in, but it is enough that they will get him on i.v. diuretics and we will not go home today. Kinda a wait and watch thing. He is much more alert and only taking tylenol and motrin for pain, but he HATES being in his room. He associates is room with pain and cries anytime he comes in it. So Annie has him in the wagon walking around the floor. He is fighting falling asleep for fear that he will end up in his room. Silly Kid. Anyway, that is the latest and we will keep you updated. Eric is at home with the kids and keeping the shop open. Thanks goodness for such an incredible husband.!!
